SAGEA gets official accreditation for its new Laboratory of Nematology

In July 2018, SAGEA Centro di Saggio s.r.l. has obtained from the Regional Phytosanitary Service of Piedmont the accreditation to carry out “Official nematodes analysis on soil, vegetables, fruits, ornamental plants and related propagation material” (Determination no. 760 of the 13th July 2018).

SAGEA is now the first private and independent laboratory accredited for nematological analysis in Piedmont Region and one of the few in Italy.

This is an important recognition to the significant investments made by SAGEA in recent years on this topic. The high professional competence of SAGEA on this specific area has been developed during the last years, through collaborations with some of the most qualified laboratories of nematology in Italy: the Agricultural Nematology Sections of the Phytosanitary Service of Lombardy and Piedmont Regions and the Institute for Sustainable Plant Protection (IPSP) of the National Research Council (CNR) of Bari in Apulia Region.

The main activities of SAGEA nematological laboratory focus on analysis of soil samples in the frame of field trials, analysis of samples from the regional monitoring programs and analysis on behalf of nurseries and farms that request SAGEA this specialized service.
